“The news from Kent State is both empowering and deeply disappointing. Dave Airhart’s convictions and his (nonviolent) protest for human rights and truth are empowering; the response from the university, on the other hand, is hypocritical and disappointing. Rather than support their students, rather than encourage their students to speak a truth they’ve experienced, the administration’s response to Airhart’s (need I say this again: nonviolent) demonstration is to discourage truth and encourage falsity, deception, and cowardice.”
