British MP George Galloway will demand money and resources for hurricane relief, not war and occupation in Iraq

Public Event at 7pm
UW-Madison’s Wisconsin Union Theatre at 7pm on Sunday, September 18.

Galloway blasted President Bush’s response to Hurricane Katrina, saying:

“The scenes from the stricken city almost defy belief. Many, many thousands of people left to die in what is the richest, most powerful country on earth.

In the most terrible way imaginable they show to the whole world that it is not only the lives of people in Baghdad, Fallujah and Palestine that Bush holds cheap. It is also his own citizens — the black and poor people left behind with no food, water or shelter.”

*Students from the Campus Anti-War Network will be gathering donations and signing up volunteers to take aid directly from the Galloway tour to hurricane victims in New Orleans.

George Galloway is Respect party MP for Bethnal Green and Bow in East London. CNN’s Wolf Blitzer described Galloway’s May 17 speech at the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations as “a blistering attack on US senators rarely heard” in Washington.
