July 4th Annual Picnic at Traprock Peace Center - We Welcomed Bruce Gagnon!
More than 60 friends and neighbors of Traprock Peace Center came to our annual picnic. Given the sweltering heat, the Woolman Hill Conference Center graciously donated their conference building and grounds. Bruce Gagnon, Director of the Global Network Against Weapons and Nuclear Power in Space, described how the US space program was headed early on by scientists who worked for the NAZI's and were secretly taken out of Europe by the US after the war. Some of these scientists oversaw the construction of NAZI military rockets that were used against England. These scientists used slave labor; 25, 000 Jews, Gypsies and others died while making these rockets. He also described the US "Masters of Space" weapons program, including plans to ring the world with up to 40 laser satellites. We urge you to visit the Global Network site for more information. (On July 3rd, we had brought Mr. Gagnon to the Cambridge Friends Meeting House for a talk. The evening also included a discussion by our former intern, Leela Whitcomb-Hewitt, about an intriguing mural depicting the plundering of Columbia by international corporations and the devastation being caused by US policy. We also displayed a 7-panel display honoring the life of Wally Nelson in photos. (Photos: Charlie Jenks or Sunny Miller)
Here is the Photoalbum of the picnic and talks by Bruce and Leela.
