I was at protest that kicked the recruiters off HCC,
\nhere is my quick summary of events:<\/p>\n
About 50 or so activist organized by the AWC (anti-war
\ncoalition; CAN chapter on HCC) gathered to protest
\nmilitarty recruiters. Chants money for jobs and
\neducation\/not for war and occcupation, Relief not War,
\ncollege not combat attracked many people passing by.<\/p>\n
As the group grew, HCC called in 5-6 Holyoke PD, they
\nstarted pushing the group back, but because the
\nAnti-war crowd had grown there was nowhere to go.
\nCops then got voilent grabbing and pushing protesters.
\n One protester was muckled others came to his aid and
\nthe Cops started a may-lay. They pepper-sprayed
\nprotesters and started swinging theirarms, and billy
\nclubs, they pushed and through protesters to the
\nground. Several people were hit by the cops.<\/p>\n
Protesters regrouped and backed the cops down to where
\nthey gave us enough space to protest with the larger
\nnumbers that were joining us.<\/p>\n
Shortly after as the crowd continued to grow, the
\nNational Guard Recruiters packed up and left, and a
\nfew college republicans looked devastated, As the
\ncrowd chanted don’t come back.<\/p>\n
