On March 27th two separate demonstrations merged in downtown San
\nFrancisco. One was for immigrants rights; the other against the war.<\/p>\n

March 27th was the culmination of a week-long hunger strike that had
\nbeen taking place in San Francisco’s Federal Building. The hunger
\nstrikers were protesting HR-4437, the anti-immigrant bill that had
\nsparked massive demonstrations across the country. The hunger strike
\nended yesterday with a noon march from the Federal Building to the
\ndowntown office of Senator Diane Fienstien.<\/p>\n

March 27th was also the culmination of a twelve day march called the
\n‘March For Peace.’ Starting in Tiajuana, Mexico and ending in San
\nFrancisco’s Mission District, the March was led by war resisters Pablo
\nParedes, Camilo Mejia, Aidan Delgado, and Fernando Suarez del Solar –
\nfather of Jesus, a US soldier killed in Iraq.<\/p>\n
