P1010091
Good humor among the peace makers was the order of the day. There were scattered confrontations with police that led to arrests. This writer did not witness any. Others have talked rough and intimidating tactics (aside from the 'fence them in' policy) One person recounted that she saw police use their horses to move the crowd. She said she yelled because there were children who were crying as they were being pushed as a group. Some protestors yelled - "Shame, Shame," she said. Another person - Core Group member Eric, was pushed to the ground by the horses. Sarah, also on the Core Group, says she was repeastedly and forcibly shoved by police in one area. Reading the emails from others, it is apparent that some people had a great experience that day, while other people had a bad experience, citing the police behavior as the reason. With such a huge crowd spread over such a large area, it is not surprising that people had very different experiences.
