The November elections showed the growing sentiment against the war and occupation of Iraq. But the release of the bipartisan Iraq Study Group report shows no sign of actually ending the occupation. Even if all its proposals are followed, the U.S. will only cause more death and suffering in Iraq.
About the speakers:
JEFF ENGLEHART is a member of Iraq Veterans Against the War. While in Iraq, he became an outspoken opponent of the war, communicating along with several fellow soldiers through the internet as the bloggers, hEkLe, Heretic and Joe Public.
ANTHONY ARNOVE is the author of Iraq: The Logic of Withdrawal. He is also a member of the editorial board of the International Socialist Review, and co-editor with Howard Zinn of Voices of a People’s History of the United States.
