Dear Dr. Corrigan,
I am shocked to hear that SFSU has punished students for participating in a
nonviolent, non-disruptive act of dissent from the Iraq war, and especially
shocked to hear that SFSU punished them by banning them from their classes,
jobs, and homes on campus — without even holding hearings first.
This is the Red Queen’s version of justice: Punishment first, trial later.
The First and Fourteenth Amendments set a different standard, as does the
religious tradition that I practice.
I urge you to apologize and make restitution.
In hope of restoring Shalom,
Rabbi Arthur Waskow, director
