‘Please send our best wishes and solidarity to David Airhart. His brave stand should be congratulated, not punished. Anti war activists in Britain will be delighted that he has taken this action and that there is opposition to army recruitment on campus. Many people here remember the name of Kent State because of the tragic killing of four anti war protesters there in 1970. David continues their tradition. The authorities are taking this action and others like it because they have conclusively lost the argument over the war and even those at the heart of the Bush administration are under investigation. Now is the time to step up the pressure to being the troops home. ‘
