Go easy on Dave Airhart

Ms. Cartwright,

Dave Airhart, a student at Kent, has been punished enough
for making the right moral choice, to protest the unprovoked
U.S. invasion and consequent occupation of Iraq, which is
both immoral and under the Nuremberg Conventions illegal.

When a school allows representatives of that illegal war
onto its campus as military recruiters, then for those who
care about young people it is a moral obligation to
counterbalance recruiters’ very well-funded
misrepresentations of military service with facts and moral
and rational arguments. Mr. Airhart’s actions were an effort
to publicize the facts and moral issues young people should
confront before signing up for military service.

I believe Mr. Airhart’s free speech action brought honor
upon Kent State University. Please find it in your heart to
go easy on him.
