To Whom In May Concern,
The fact that a student would be so abused at Kent
State – which is holy, sacred, ground in the movement
against war – is testimony that administrators and
recruiters have crossed the line in an effort to
silence dissent.
As someone who is a regular commentator on national
radio in the USA and national television in Canada,
rest assured that I will bring light to the forces of
darkness and repression that seem to be festering on
the Kent State campus.
It goes without saying that if there is one campus in
the US where students should feel like they can
protest without meeting the hand of violence, it
should be Kent State. If not, then 25 years ago,
Allison Krause, Jeffrey Miller, Sandra Scheuer and
William Schroeder died in vain.
Rest assured, we remember their names and their
memory. Rest assured we will fight to make Kent State
a safe place to be heard.
Sincerely,
Dave Zirin – author “‘What’s My Name, Fool?’ Sports
and Resistance in the United States.”
