March 5, 2003- Books Not Bombs March and Rally from UMASS to Amherst Center, where people 'took over' the downtown intersection. Police were cooperative. They made no arrests and diverted traffic for an hour as people formed a circle and rallied.

March 5, 2003- Books Not Bombs March and Rally from UMASS to Amherst Center, where people 'took over' the downtown intersection. Police were friendly and cooperative. Thank you! They made no arrests and diverted traffic for an hour as people formed a circle and rallied in the intersection. This march and rally was one of hundreds throughout the country, as called for by the National Youth and Student Peace Coalition and supported by the Campus Anti-War Network (CAN) as well as peace and justice organizations throughout the country.
